World Cup T-20 2014 may be shifted to India from Bangladesh

Dhaka, Dec 26 (TruthDive): The upcoming ICC World T20 in March 2014 may be shifted to India due to the political turmoil prevailing in Bangladesh.

ICC World Cup T20 is slated to start from March 16, 2014 and the biggest event of the year is planned to be held across three venues in Bangladesh – Sylhet, Mirpur and Chittagong.

The nation is at present facing a wave of political violence with the two major political parties, the Bangladesh Nationalist Party and the Awami League, battling in January 5 elections.

A decision on whether to change the venue or hold Bangladesh as the host for the tournament is expected to be taken soon when the organisers of the tournament and the Asian Cricket Council meet in Dhaka.

Nazmul Hassan, the Bangladesh Cricket Board president will meet the main political leaders of Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, who is also head of the Awami League, as well as Begum Khaleda Zia, the leader of BNP. In the meeting, he will make sure the cricket matches will be held uninterrupted in the country, in an effort to assure the Asian Cricket Council (ACC), Sri Lanka Cricket and the ICC over security concerns.

In January, BCB will hold the meetings with the political leaders and get the assurances before the ICC and the ACC hold crucial talks early in the month.

Sri Lanka are the first visitors to Bangladesh in 2014. BCB’s acting CEO Nizamuddin Chowdhury said the BCB will offer the team with extra security and take tighter measures to ensure safety. He said the arrangements will be provided according to the demands. The security agency will take steps according to the risk assessment.

Pakistan considering cancel the T20 World Cup tours in Bangladesh next year

Ever since the Pakistan parliament passed a resolution against the execution of a Jamaat-e-Islaami leader in Bangladesh, who opposed the creation of the nation in 1971 and was treated as a war criminal, the mood has grown worse in Bangladesh, with growing protesters demanding the government to severe all ties with Pakistan.
PCB and Bangladesh Cricket Board haven’t had the best of relationship over the past few years with Bangladesh cancelling two tours to Pakistan after having made commitments for the same.
With a growing anti-Pakistan wave in Bangladesh, Pakistan is mulling the option of withdrawing from the upcoming T20 World Cup and Asia Cup tournaments scheduled to be held in Bangladesh next year.
According PTI sources, Pakistan Cricket Board has concerns about the situation in Bangladesh and hasn’t ruled out the possibility of a pull out.
“We are monitoring the situation but we are waiting to see what the International Cricket Council decides in January whether to hold the World T20 in Bangladesh in March-April or shift it somewhere else,” the source was quoted as saying by PTI.
“If the ICC shifts the World T20 from Bangladesh then the Asia Cup (in Feb-March) will also be called off in Bangladesh and postponed for the next few months until a feasible window and host is found for the tournament,” he said.

History of T-20 Cricket

When you are taking about Football, you can say it's a worldwide game. Like football Hockey is also a worldwide game. Unfortunately others games are not so popular like two of them. You can say, “OH! Ragbi, Baseball, Galf are also popular”. Or you can ask me, “Why you forget about cricket?” Yes they are also popular but these games are not playing worldwide like football.
If you ask with one is the most popular game in Asia? Obviously cricket is the most popular game in Asia specially South Asia.
Cricket has a long history. England is the father of this game. It's 1st version was Test Cricket. After many stage it's become 5 days Cricket game. A sudden reson 5 days cricket game become One Day Cricket and it's the 2nd virson of the game. Till now the last version of this game is t20 which is also populared by England.
A Twenty20 game is completed in about three hours, with each innings lasting around 75–90 minutes (with a 10–20-minute interval), thus bringing the game closer to the timespan of other popular team sports. It was introduced to create a lively form of the game which would be attractive to spectators at the ground and viewers on television and as such it has been very successful. The ECB did not intend that Twenty20 would replace other forms of cricket and these have continued alongside it.
When the Benson & Hedges Cup ended in 2002, the ECB needed another one day competition to fill its place. Cricketing authorities were looking to boost the game's popularity with the younger generation in response to dwindling crowds and reduced sponsorship. It was intended to deliver fast paced, exciting cricket accessible to thousands of fans who were put off by the longer versions of the game. Stuart Robertson, the marketing manager of the ECB, proposed a 20 over per innings game to county chairmen in 2001 and they voted 11–7 in favour of adopting the new format.
The first official Twenty20 matches were played on 13 June 2003 between the English counties in the Twenty20 Cup. The first season of Twenty20 in England was a relative success, with the Surrey Lions defeating the Warwickshire Bears by 9 wickets in the final to claim the title. The first Twenty20 match held at Lord's, on 15 July 2004 between Middlesex and Surrey, attracted a crowd of 27,509, the largest attendance for any county cricket game at the ground other than a one-day final since 1953.
This one is 5th competition. 1St champion is Inida, then Pakistan, England and West Indis.
We are waiting for 5th champion. Who can say, may be Bangladesh is the 5th champion!a
